Egypt ranks first in the Arab world in renewable energy
Egypt ranked first in the Arab world in having the largest capacity to generate electricity from renewable energy sources in 2023, according to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency, becoming a leading model for the transition to clean energy on the level of the African continent and the Arab region. This progress reflects the success of the ambitious national strategy adopted by the country to enhance reliance on sustainable energy sources and support efforts to confront climate change, in a way that achieves long-term environmental and economic benefits.
Civil society plays a pivotal role in supporting the transition to renewable energy by spreading awareness of its importance, supporting environmental initiatives, and empowering local communities to adopt sustainable energy solutions. Non-governmental organizations contribute to launching clean energy initiatives, providing technical and advisory support for environmental projects, in addition to supporting small projects in the field of green energy, in a way that enhances integration between the efforts of the state and society to achieve sustainable development.
In this context, the Arab Center for the Sustainability of Civil Action, through its activities and programs, supports all institutions and individuals to learn about clean energy issues, support sustainable policies and initiatives, and take practical steps in their daily lives to reduce energy consumption and promote clean solutions. Every step, no matter how simple, makes a real difference.
Together, we can build a clean energy future that protects our planet, and promotes justice and dignity for future generations
